The
Rev. Eva Reque Steege
|

Although
she had felt the call to serve the church since she was a
teenager, she didn't decide to study at the seminary until
moving to Washington, DC in 1995. She graduated from Lutheran
Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, PA in June 2004 with a
master of divinity degree. On March 20, 2005 she was ordained
at Lutheran Church of the Reformation in Washington, DC.

At a joyful
morning service on April 3, 2005, Grace Lutheran Church welcomed
the Rev. Eva Reque Steege as its new pastor.
The People
of Grace unanimously voted to call Pastor Steege on February
27, 2005. She accepted, and becomes the sixth full-time pastor
to serve the Asylum Hill congregation. She was formally installed
as pastor during a service on July 10, 2005.
Pastor
Steege received a bachelor's degree in French from Carleton
College, and her M.Div. from the Lutheran Theological Seminary
at Gettysburg. She has been a teacher, banker, and public
relations director, most recently of the New England Synod
of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
